Proposed Tax Rates available online for Rains County Property Owners Senate Bill 2, 86 th Legislative Session made several significant changes to the Truth-in-Taxation process. Most property owners know that their property market values are part of the equation to determine their property tax bill, but the tax rate plays a role in that calculation. This is the third year Rains County property owners can review proposed, no new tax and voter-approved rates; the impact they could have on their property tax bill online at rains.countytaxrates.com The website allows a property owners to type in their address, name, or property ID to review the proposed rates for all the taxing entities within Rains County that pertain to their property. The website also breaks down how much of their tax bill goes to each entity, shows the impact of the proposed rates on their tax bill, along with public comments. The site list upcoming hearings that owners can attend also.
